Well, come on in...

Prairie Homebody is the Nebraska-based production entity of filmmaker Darcy Lueking.*

While my remote work allows me to stay connected to the larger entertainment industry, it is the tactile experience of making films that lets me feel creatively whole.

As such, I like to find special, community-facing projects where I can use my skill set to tell the stories that make me proud to call Nebraska my home.

*You may know me as Darcy Bahensky if we met after New Year’s Eve 2017.

A wooden desk with a black laptop, a white notepad with a pen, a stack of white books, a small vase with a purple flower, and a modern white table lamp.

Made from scratch.

The Story

Do you have a story that deserves to be told? Is there an event you’d like to capture? Do you want to see your small business in a new light?

If you think you’ve got an interesting subject for a video, I’d love to hear more about it!

The approach

Every project has different needs. In this phase, I’ll pitch ideas and lay out what it will take to execute them.

Some ideas can be done in an afternoon with my own camera. Some ideas require a cast and crew to do them justice.

I’ll always be transparent about what is feasible and what it costs.

The film

Once we get our ducks in a row, we get to actually make the project! That’s the best part. We get to bring all the pieces together and see this world through fresh eyes.
